Day 74

Yay Friday! We didn't have Ethics today because Carlos never seems to be aware of our scheduled make-up class days. No complaints there!

I decided to sleep through breakfast because honestly, it's not that good anyway. Sleep is better.

It was our last day of LAC, which was bittersweet. I'll miss it in a way, but also not really. The class was kind of unpredictable. We spent most of our last class learning about Holy Week here in Seville, which is really not too different from Mardi Gras in Louisiana. Most people thought it all seemed super crazy and strange, but I was barely shocked at all.

The weather was absolutely gorgeous, so Katie and I were dying to just get outside and go anywhere. We went to the Barrio Santa Cruz next to the cathedral to try out another one of the tapas bars there. Unfortunately, they did not have patatas bravas, but we weren't disappointed with the fried goat cheese and cod croquettes that we ended up getting. I love tapas!

After, we did a little souvenir shopping. Katie wanted to buy a Spain-themed Christmas ornament, and had success in finding one. Well, it was really just a little flamenco dancer figurine, but she's going to string a string through it. It's super cute!

Next, we hit up Starbucks to get a frappuccino and iced coffee (because it was so warm outside)! We sat in the shade outside, though, and actually got really cold doing so. As soon as we finished, we were back in the sun heading to Plaza de España.

We finally got pretty, daytime photos of Plaza de España! AND we rented a rowboat. We struggled at first, I'm not gonna lie. But once we found our rhythm, we were pretty good! We avoided all the stupid people (namely all the 15-year-olds) who nearly hit us. My arms were sufficiently tired afterward, so we headed home for some siesta time.

Some sights in Maria Luisa Park from the walk home

I relaxed for a couple hours, and then it was time for dinner. Katie, Gina, Shavonne, Shaq, Jon, and I went to Tijuana Tex-Mex (the other Mexican restaurant that Katie and I went to last weekend). We all agree that the food isn't as good as it is at Iguanas, but the margaritas are so much better. Once we finished up, we all headed to the international beer bar in the center.

The international beer bar is so cool. It was much more crowded this time, which makes sense because it was a Friday night. Still, though, it's the kind of place where we can all actually talk to each other, even when it is crowded, so I appreciate that. It was a lot of fun.

We left the bar, but didn't go straight home. Gina insisted on getting a McFlurry, so we stopped at good ol' McDonald's. I got some fries because I'm weak. Judge me.

Finally, we did go home, all very happy that we could really sleep in the next morning.
